Kanye West made an unexpected appearance at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial in lower Manhattan, drawing attention as he walked into the courthouse. According to NBC News, onlookers greeted the rapper with shouts of “thanks for the support Kanye” as he entered the building. When asked by a reporter, “are you here to show support?” West simply replied, “yes.”
West arrived around 11:30 a.m. and stayed for roughly 30 minutes before exiting the courthouse. His presence comes during a highly publicized and serious case involving Combs, who is facing multiple sex trafficking charges. If convicted, the 55-year-old music mogul could face a prison sentence ranging from 15 years to life.
Prosecutors allege that Combs used his power, wealth, and influence to pressure girlfriends into sexual acts with paid sex workers over the course of multiple days. These encounters, they say, were later deeply regretted by the women involved. They claim Combs used manipulation, threats, and violence to maintain control.
On the other hand, Combs’ defense team has pushed back strongly against the allegations. His attorneys argue that the government is overreaching by criminalizing what they insist was consensual sex between adults. They maintain that the case hinges more on sensationalism than legal merit.
West’s appearance at the trial has sparked additional media buzz, especially given his own history of controversial public statements and high-profile friendships within the entertainment industry. While he offered no further comments, his brief visit was a public signal of solidarity at a time when Combs is fighting for his freedom.
