Kanye West praises Kendrick Lamar after Not Like Us dominated the 2025 Grammy Awards. The Compton rapper’s explosive diss track—aimed at their mutual rival, Drake—made history on Sunday night, February 2nd, by winning five Grammys, the most ever for a rap song. Along with securing the Recording Academy’s approval, Kendrick also received praise from his No More Parties in L.A. collaborator, Kanye West.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, Ye praises Kendrick by sharing a photo of him on the red carpet, posing with his Grammys. He captioned it: “Gemini season” with a goat emoji, acknowledging K.Dot’s record-breaking success. Despite his past issues with the Grammys, Kanye seemed to be in good spirits, even thanking the Academy for nominating his track Carnival for Best Rap Song. However, Carnival ultimately lost to Not Like Us.
While Ye left the ceremony empty-handed, he still made headlines—this time because of his wife, Bianca Censori. The model stunned on the red carpet by ditching her fur coat and revealing a sheer slip that left little to the imagination. Rumors quickly spread that Kanye and Bianca were kicked out of the event because of her outfit, but a Variety source shut down the speculation, confirming that Ye simply “walked the carpet, got in his car, and left.”
Meanwhile, Kendrick’s night was historic. He became only the second rapper ever to win both Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The first was Childish Gambino in 2019. Not Like Us also took home Best Rap Performance, Best Music Video, and Best Rap Song. As the first diss track to win a Grammy, Kendrick further cemented his legacy. He proved once again that hip-hop’s most defining moments can’t be ignored.
