On Sunday, April 20, Ye (formally known as Kanye West) revealed in an X post that, despite the praise for his collaboration with JAY-Z on “Jail” from Donda, the two encountered significant disagreements during the process. The mogul expressed friction that emerged during the song’s creation, particularly in relation to JAY-Z’s criticism of Ye’s past endorsement of Donald Trump. The specific line in question features JAY-Z advising, “Stop all of that red cap, we goin’ home,” which alludes to Ye’s contentious support for the president’s “Make America Great Again” cap.

Ye conveyed deep emotional pain regarding JAY-Z’s phrasing, remarking, “Why did Jay Z have to say ‘no red hat’ on ‘Jail?’ That shit tore me to my soul. We fought about it and he told me either leave that line on there or take my verse off.” This exchange highlights the personal stakes embedded in their partnership, while subtly revealing a deeper tension that stretches beyond simple creative disagreements. The Chicago artist later reflected on the possibility that external pressures might have shaped JAY-Z’s lyrics, questioning his audience whether they thought his mentor had been pushed to publicly call him out. Ye continues to feel overlooked in the music industry due to this speculation.

Ye’s Feud with JAY-Z and Beyoncé Escalates Amid Controversial Remarks

Tensions between the two have escalated following Ye’s controversial remarks, which ignited a wave of public criticism. His inflammatory remark about JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s children fueled outrage, eventually forcing an apology from the rapper, who later expressed regret. Nevertheless, the fallout continues, with sources revealing that JAY-Z and Beyoncé may be exploring legal avenues in response to his statements.

The mogul’s discontent goes beyond lyrical disagreements; he has articulated feelings of betrayal stemming from what he perceives as a lack of support from JAY-Z over the years. In a reflective moment, he stated, “I always felt like the black sheep… I wanted family in this music shit.” He expressed disappointment over the absence of support during critical periods in his life, including his challenging custody battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Ye’s frustrations are complex, encompassing both personal and professional aspects. He believes that JAY-Z and Beyoncé, given their significant cultural influence, could have helped him better navigate the difficulties he faced, stating, “They could have used their cultural position to not just watch the Kardashians run me over.”
