Following a series of subpar games, many are questioning if age has finally caught up to LeBron James. The phrase “Father Time” was a trending topic on X (Formerly Twitter) and it was not a positive reinforcement of “King James” recent performances.

On Monday (Dec 2), the Los Angeles Lakers were blown out by a score of 109-80. During the game, James struggled with his shooting. He shot 0-for-4 shooting on 3-pointers and went 4-of-12 on 2-pointers.

When asked if he could pinpoint what exactly is going on, James believes its a lot of factors contributing to his cold streak.

It’s everything,” James said after the game. “It’s the rhythm. I just feel off rhythm the last few, three, or four games.”

“We’re just not good offensively right now,” he continued. “I think we spent so much time on trying to get our defense corrected that our offense just took a toll and took a back seat to that.”

One of James’ goals for this year was to play every game of the season. Lakers coach J.J. Reddick seems to think that may not be the best idea.

“I don’t know what’s in the best interest of him and us if he does that, but if he’s feeling well and feeling good, then he should play,” Redick said. “But we obviously want to manage that as best we can.”

Reddick also vowed to discover what the Lakers lost that they had earlier in the season.

“I’ve not seen us play the way we played earlier in the year,” Redick said. “I mean, I’ve got to spend all day tomorrow with my staff trying to figure out how we get back to that.”

James may also be rethinking the strategy so he can best preserve his body for a playoff run.

“That’s a goal, but, we’ll see,” James said. “It’s something I ain’t discussing right now.”
