Reports indicate that Lil Baby dropped hints about teaming up with Future and Young Thug for a new project.
During an appearance on Spotify’s A Day in the Life, the rapper revealed that the collaboration has already begun, following a suggestion made by Thug himself. The rapper stated, “Me and Future were working on a joint tape. We damn near got the joint tape done.” “And now Slime came home, you know he ain’t goin’ for that. He was likem ‘Shiiit.’” He continued, “It was actually Thug’s idea. When he was in jail, he was like, ‘Aye, call Pluto. I want y’all to do a tape together.’ He damn near named the tape and everything — this was before he got out.”
“Now that he got out, he’s like, ‘I’m on on the tape’ [laughs]. We might have something big in store on that […] Thug is a lab rat. all he do is stay in the studio. We’ve already made 10 songs together.”
During the chat, Baby disclosed that his 4PF label is working on a new compilation, Can’t Be Fucked With. This follows the release of WHAM, with a sequel, Domnique, set to follow shortly.
Lil Baby Confirms 2025 Dual Releases, Following Earlier hints
After hinting at the possibility in previous conversations, Lil Baby confirmed on A Safe Place podcast that he plans to drop two albums in 2025. He voiced, “At first, I was telling people I was going to drop a double album. Now, I’m dropping the WHAM album and Dominique album.”
The “Woah” artist shared that his second album, bearing his real name, is slated for release in February. Asked by his “Sum More” collaborator how the two albums would differ, he explained, “I still put some of the songs I was gonna use for Dominique on WHAM ’cause I know my fanbase really want to hear them certain songs.” “WHAM is more me on some young n-gga shit — fast cars, girls, jewelry, money. You know, the turnt lifestyle. And Dominique is more the serious me, more personal.” He continued, “That’s a part of the new journey I’m on. I hate the word vulnerable, but I’m gonna be more open to my fans and my audience.”
