Lil Durk is currently awaiting a federal trial on murder-for-hire charges, but today’s update is on a kinder note with viral footage of the Chicago rapper’s daughter trolling him with the viral “PC Prank” sweeping across social media.
The video surfaced online on March 5 and shows Lil Durk, via phone, having a playful conversation with his daughter while he remains in federal custody. The clip opens with her explaining the prank to viewers.
“Umm, hey guys, so I’m waiting on my dad to call because I’m about to do that prank on him, and say he’s from the ‘PC unit,’” she says. The caption reads, “Doing The PC Prank On My Dad.”
Once the call begins, the tone feels casual and warm. She tells her father about a new girl at school whose father is also incarcerated. The story leads into the prank’s setup.
“So there’s this new girl at my school, right?” she tells him. “And she was like, ‘Oh yeah, my dad is in jail too,’ so we started becoming friends.”
Durk listens closely, asking follow-up questions. She then claims she told the classmate her father was housed in the “PC unit.” The remark immediately catches his attention.
“She said her daddy what?” Durk asks, sounding surprised.
When she repeats the claim, he quickly corrects it. “Ah yeah, I ain’t in no PC unit, baby,” he responds. “I’m not in no PC.”
Durk then explains the slang directly. “PC is ‘protective custody.’ It’s when you scared to be on the floor with regular people,” he says, referring to jail housing units designed to separate certain inmates from the general population.
Moments later, the prank lands. “No, I was joking, dad. It was a joke,” his daughter says while laughing. She admits the idea came from social media. “I just saw it on TikTok, so I was just trying to do it to you.”
Durk laughs once he realizes the setup. “Oh, I was like ‘what?!’” he replies.
The lighthearted moment quickly spread across TikTok and Instagram, drawing attention because it captures a rare personal exchange with the rapper.
Durk, born Durk Derrick Banks, remains detained while awaiting trial on federal murder-for-hire charges. His trial is currently scheduled for August.
