Lil Nas X had fans concerned late Monday night, April 14th, after posting a hospital video revealing he couldn’t move the right side of his face. In the clip, the rapper-singer tried several times to smile but could only lift one side of his mouth. The left side responded normally, while the right remained still. Though he laughed during the video, repeating “Oh my God, bro,” the cause of the issue remains unclear.
As of now, Lil Nas X hasn’t shared a diagnosis or explanation behind the facial paralysis. The brief clip sparked plenty of speculation online, with fans noting the visible asymmetry and wondering whether it could be something temporary or more serious.
Still, in true Lil Nas X fashion, he kept things light-hearted. About an hour later, he returned to Instagram Stories with his usual humor. “I’m so cooked,” he wrote, showing a close-up of his face. In another post, he added, “GUYS I AM OK!! STOP BEING SAD FOR ME! SHAKE UR A*S FOR ME INSTEAD!” He ended the updates with a selfie and the caption, “Imma look funny for a lil bit, but that’s it.”
This appears to be the first time he’s addressed any kind of medical issue involving his facial muscles. It’s not known whether he’s still in the hospital or undergoing further treatment.
The video quickly gained traction, pulling in tens of thousands of likes and comments. Celebrities like Taraji P. Henson and Wanda Sykes dropped messages of support. In the comments, many fans brought up Justin Bieber, who experienced temporary facial paralysis in 2022 due to Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. As of Tuesday morning, Lil Nas X hasn’t provided any new updates, but fans continue to flood his posts with love and well-wishes.
