In a matter of days, the tone surrounding Lil Tjay and Offset has shifted noticeably, moving from confrontation to something closer to detachment. During a brief, unscripted exchange with TMZ, the New York artist dismissed the idea of an ongoing feud and redirected attention to his work. “I ain’t got no beef for nobody, brother,” he said, before turning to promotion. “My album’s coming out May 1st… They Just Ain’t You, it stands for TJAY. I’mma have a lot of controversial sht. If y’all want some controversial sht, stream the album.” The pivot, abrupt as it was, suggested a deliberate cooling of tensions rather than a continuation of them.

Not long before that appearance, uncertainty still defined his public comments about the shooting tied to Offset. In a more measured conversation with Billboard, he described confusion and pointed to legal advice shaping his response. “I’m just as confused as everyone else about that,” he said. “My lawyer told me not to touch on it too much. What I can say is the album will really hit home for my fans.” The shift in language—from accusation to restraint—reflects a recalibration that appears guided, at least in part, by counsel.

Earlier remarks painted a far more volatile picture. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Tjay spoke sharply, recounting what he said he witnessed and directing pointed language at Offset. His attorney, Dawn Florio, later narrowed the legal scope of the situation. “The only thing that Lil Tjay was being looked into for was for creating a disturbance,” she said. “Those are the charges that he’s fighting. As far as I’m aware, there’s no charges related to shooting Offset. There’s video everywhere — there’s no video that shows that Tjay is involved in any of this.”

Authorities have confirmed a disorderly conduct charge stemming from an incident outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, though officials have not tied it to the shooting itself. Offset, who initially responded in kind, has since adopted a quieter posture. In a recent interview, he described a focus on persistence and craft: “Got to keep pushing. Gladiator mentality, man. The show don’t ever stop at the end of the day…”
