Lil Wayne had a classic reaction after finding out who Papoose is dating now. During a recent Rolling Stone interview, where Wayne appears as the cover star, some off-topic moments didn’t make the final cut but were later released on April 21st. One of those moments came when Wayne casually asked if Remy Ma and Papoose were still together.
When told that they had split and Papoose is now dating boxing champ Claressa Shields, Wayne simply said, “He like somebody that could beat his ass.” The update was delivered by Lil Twist and the interviewer, who gave Wayne what he called a “Shaderoom-style” breakdown.
Rumors about Remy and Papoose’s relationship troubles had been floating around for a while, but things turned public in December when their personal drama spilled onto social media. Remy accused Pap of cheating on her with Shields and blasted the boxer online. Shields fired back immediately on X, writing, “Claressa Shields vs @RealRemyMa Feb 2nd! Come get yo ass whooped crash out!!”
She followed up with, “I’m not a bitch you can bully. You’re bitter and mad. You making yourself look stupid, just stop it.”
The situation escalated quickly. Remy claimed Shields planted fake stories in the media, leaked alleged texts between her and Papoose, and referred to Shields as Pap’s “weirdo girlfriend.” Papoose responded by accusing Remy of repeated infidelity and said he had been wanting a divorce for a while.
Remy later accused him of domestic violence and claimed he got her arrested, which Papoose denied. He countered by posting a photo of Remy getting close with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain, who she’s been linked to since last summer. Both new couples have since gone public with their relationships.
