Lil Novi, the teenage son of Lil Wayne and singer Nivea, revealed his pick for what he believes to be his father’s greatest album. Speaking on the TRSH channel on Youtube, Novi was also asked if he shared the widespread view that his father ranks among hip-hop’s all-time legends. He stated, “For surely I agree.” “But I just be like, yeah that shit cool. I be like, yeah that shit hard.”

Novi continued by explaining that he isn’t particularly bored of hearing about his father’s career, especially when it stems from sincere admiration for his years of artistic accomplishment. However, he does find it amusing when people draw parallels between his father’s lifestyle and his father’s legacy. He went on to say, “Some kids, they be like, ‘Oh that’s crazy. How does it feel to wake up every day?’” “I be like, bro, it’s regular. I’m a human. I’m just like y’all.”

Novi Reflects on His Father’s Legacy and Evolving Sound

When asked to name his father’s three greatest albums, Novi took the opportunity to reflect on the shifting tastes across generations, offering a perspective rooted in both respect and the evolving nature of music.

Novi voiced, “I ain’t gon’ lie.” “I’m finna to be so cooked for this question because it’s just not my generation.” Nevertheless, Novi did have a standout choice, expressing a clear fondness for his father’s more recent work, particularly the latest addition to the Tha Carter collection. He also hinted at the impending arrival of the much-anticipated Tha Carter VI, which has been a long time in the making.

He proceeded to explain, “I listen to his music.” “I listen to, like, kind of like his newer music. I don’t really listen to his old stuff. But I’ll say his top one album, I’ll say the newest Carter. I think it’s Carter V. But yeah, that shit was hard. That shit was great.”

Toward the end of the conversation, Novi shared his earliest recollection of seeing his father perform live, a moment that naturally segued into his own debut on stage. He reflected on the defining moment from his youth, “I was just stuck. I was just frozen.”
