Reports indicate that Lonzo Ball is clarifying his involvement in LiAngelo Ball‘s viral track “Tweaker,” following some fans’ doubts about the song’s credits.

On Apple Music, the song credits NBA star Lonzo as both the writer and vocal contributor. However, he clarified his involvement in a January 6 post on X. He shared, “Only credit I deserve is the cover art lol G really that! #YearOfG.”

A range of explanations could be at play here. Perhaps LiAngelo included his brother’s name as a gesture to help line his pockets, or maybe Lonzo is simply playing the role of the humble older sibling, eager to let his younger brother take center stage with the track. Then again, it’s entirely possible the credit mix-up is just an oversight, a mistake not uncommon in the music business.

Released on January 3, “Tweaker” quickly made its way to streaming platforms, though its buzz had already ignited after Li Angelo debuted the track on Neon’s livestream. Fans wasted no time drawing comparisons, instantly likening it to the golden days of Cash Money and the Hot Boys. Within only four days of its debut, the track has amassed more than 4 million views on YouTube.

Cam’ron and LiAngelo Ball Trade Shots Over NBA Dreams and Family Feuds

Shifting gears, Cam’Ron, now a sports analyst, mocked LiAngelo’s overseas career, claiming he lacked the talent to join his NBA brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo.

On It Is What It Is, the Harlem rapper reflected on what Gelo’s siblings might have said to him: “We tried, we did everything we could. We gotta tryout in China for you, that’s all we got” before declaring, “He ain’t NBA good.” LiAngelo, who has spent time in the NBA’s developmental and Summer Leagues and most recently played professionally in Mexico, quickly responded on his podcast What an Experience. Co-hosted with his brother Lonzo and friends DMO and Anthony Salazar, he wasted no time offering his take.

He remarked, “‘Suck It Or Not’ with Lil Wayne, that’s all I remember from you.” “You don’t know my story like that. To say, ‘Oh, he got a tryout in China,’ you don’t know what I did in the G League, boy. I’m out here hooping.” In a subsequent episode of Cam’s podcast, Killa fired back, stating, “I only know you ’cause your father’s a great marketer, n-gga. I wouldn’t know you if it wasn’t for LaVar Ball.”

Additionally, he called out LiAngelo’s arrest in China for stealing sunglasses. He said, “[LaVar] had two sons that he was right about. Gelo, I ain’t got no problem with you, I just gotta call it like I see it. You’re lucky Trump was in China ’cause they might have cut your fingers off over stealing those sunglasses, n-gga.” Ball then quickly responded, saying, “I’ve never talked to someone and you’ve been in [their] top five, top 10, bro. I’ve never heard your name in no rap convo.”
