Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team has firmly rejected claims from Tory Lanez’s defense suggesting the emergence of new evidence that could exonerate him in the 2020 shooting incident.

As previously reported, Lanez’s attorneys launched a website, 36hourslater.com, presenting what they describe as new evidence, including bodycam footage and witness statements alleging that Megan’s former friend, Kelsey Harris, was the shooter. They also cited a bodyguard’s claim of overhearing Harris confess to the shooting.

Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, dismissed these claims, stating, “Tory Lanez’s team can’t keep a story straight. Last week, they argued that Kelsey Harris shot Megan and now, they’re claiming that Megan only stepped on glass. They continue to rehash old evidence from trial and re-package it as new information to desperately sway public opinion.”

Megan’s legal team released a 31-page presentation countering Lanez’s claims, emphasizing that the so-called new evidence was already presented during the trial. This includes text messages from Lanez apologizing to Megan shortly after the incident, Ring camera audio capturing five gunshots, and DNA evidence indicating a 90% probability that the male DNA on the firearm belonged to Lanez.

Lanez, was convicted in December 2022 for assaulting Megan, and is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence.
