Miguel has entered a new season of life, and it begins with fatherhood. Earlier this month, fans learned that he and creative director Margaret Zhang are parents to a son named Angelito, who recently turned one. The reveal came through a video Zhang posted online to mark their child’s birthday. While the clip showed moments of warmth and joy, Angelito’s face was blurred to keep his identity private.

Speaking with TMZ Hip Hop at Los Angeles International Airport, Miguel explained that the decision to hide his son’s face was intentional. “This world is crazy!!!” he said, noting his desire to protect Angelito from the chaos of fame.

The Grammy winner has not released a studio album in eight years, and his public appearances have been limited in recent seasons. Instead, his focus has been on family and the quiet experiences that come with raising a child. The singer also emphasized how much fatherhood has influenced his creative path.

Miguel and Zhang’s choice to share Angelito with the world on their own terms highlights their boundaries. Rather than a polished rollout, the introduction happened during a family celebration. For Miguel, that moment set the tone for how he wants to navigate parenthood in the public eye.

Angelito has also been central to Miguel’s return to music. The singer revealed that his son’s presence inspired his new project, shaping its themes and emotional core. The album, titled CAOS, is now officially set to be released on October 23.

With new music on the way, Miguel’s comeback is deeply tied to this chapter of his life. What once drove him to chase artistic extremes has shifted. Today, the motivation comes from being a father and telling that story through his art.
