Mike Tyson and Jack Paul are ready to get it this weekend.
During the final press conference in anticipation of the fight, Tyson and Paul both believe that the duel will be more than a friendly exhibition.
“I’m just ready to fight. I’ve said everything I had to say,” Tyson told reporters. “There’s nothing else to say. I’m just looking forward to fighting.”
Tyson also shared the importance of having his family present with him for the fight.
Family is everything. To my children, I’m nobody, but that night they’re going to find out their father is very special,” Tyson said. “So the night of the fight they’re gonna realize they better watch it the next time they talk crap to me.”
Paul says he’s not concerned about Tyson who seems to be in incredible shape for a 58-year-old.
“Yeah, it’s cute. I fear no man. So I want him to be that old savage Mike. He says he’s going to kill me. I’m ready. I want that killer. I want the hardest match possible Friday night, and I want there to be no excuses from everyone at home when I knock him out,” Paul said.
Leading up to the showdown, Netflix released COUNTDOWN: PAUL VS. TYSON, a three-part docu-series narrated by hip-hop icon Ice-T.
After several delays, the long-awaited boxing event will take place at the AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas.
On the undercard, undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) will take on unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs). The contest is regarded as one of the most-anticipated women’s boxing rematches in history.
Other boxers on the card include Mario Barrios, Abel Ramos, Neeraj Goyat, Whindersson Nunes, Shadasia Green, Melinda Watpool, Lucas Bahdi, Armando Casamonica, Shu Shu Carrington Jr., and Dana Coolwell.
