The producers behind Lost In Riddim announced today the festival has been canceled.

Lost In Riddim was scheduled for October 1st and 2nd at Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose, California. This year would have been the second consecutive year with Wizkid and Davido headlining and performances by Tems, Omah Lay, Ckay, Fireboy DML and more.

The festival organizers expressed their devastation in an instagram post on Wednesday, Aug 17th. “We have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel this year’s festival. Due to a number of extenuating circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to provide the experience we originally envisioned for you. “

The organizers assured ticket purchasers that refunds have been processed. “Ticket buyers, refunds have been processed and details have been sent to your email.”

The independent music festival was founded in 2021 by a pair first generation African immigrants. The festival’s goal is to center Afrobeats artists who identify as African, Caribbean, or Black. In an interview with Hype Magazine, co-founder Fornati Kumeh shared his excitement for what would have been the second festival. He shared, “With a new and larger location, not to mention this incredible line-up of international artists locked in to perform, I’m expecting this to be a weekend for the record books. We really hope fans worldwide will come show out at Lost In Riddim this October.”
