Mystikal is facing a serious legal situation.

The 51-year-old “Shake It Fast” rapper is facing life in prison following his first-degree rape and domestic abuse indictment.

The alleged attack happened on July 30 at his home in Prairieville, Louisiana. NOLA reports on September 6, the Ascension Parish grand jury “handed up the rape charge and nine other criminal counts against the Grammy-nominated rapper. Sheriff deputies accused Tyler of “imprisoning, strangling, raping and robbing a woman during a financial dispute.”

Following the alleged incident, Mystikal is also charged with a single count of domestic abuse, battery by strangulation, simple robbery, possession of heroin, illegal possession of Xanax, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to two indictments against him, the outlet reports. After police searched his home, he was hit with the two additional indictments on the same day.

Mystikal’s attorney, Joel Pearce, addressed the charges and looks forward to their day in court. He said, “It’s an indictment. It means nothing. “Judge Steven Tureau of the 23rd Judicial District Court is keeping Mystikal in Ascension Parish Prison without bail. Pearce is trying to have a hearing to reconsider the bail ruling; however, a date hasn’t been set yet. In addition, Pearce also wants a special pre-trial hearing to examine some of the prosecutors’ case.

The report also notes the alleged victim was in a long-term relationship with Mystikal “since the 1990s,” and he’s never been accused of attacking her. The unidentified woman says on the night of the alleged abuse, Mystikal took her car keys and “held her against her will. In addition to allegedly raping her, she claims he “prayed with her to remove bad spirits.”

It’s noted Mystikal is registered as a lifetime sex offender after his 2003 conviction for sexual assault and extortion. He’s had other arrests in the past for drug possession, domestic violence, and rape, but none led to his conviction. In 2017, he spent nearly 18 months in jail for a sexual assault case, but a grand jury dismissed the charges.

Mystikal hasn’t spoken out as of yet; we’ll keep you updated.
