Nicki Minaj has accused Canadian officials of trying to sabotage her Pink Friday 2 Tour due to her husband Kenneth Petty’s criminal history. She took to social media, specifically X, formerly Twitter, to explain her delayed arrival for the Montreal show on Wednesday night, April 17th.

Minaj detailed the unusual circumstances surrounding her flight’s delay, expressing disbelief at the airline’s sudden shutdown at midnight. She highlighted the challenges faced in securing another flight for the show and suggested that the airline expected payment for their services. The constant rescheduling and alleged fueling delays further exacerbated the situation, causing Minaj to arrive just hours before her scheduled performance time.

Upon arrival in Canada, Minaj claimed that authorities subjected her to heightened security measures compared to her previous visits. She noted a departure from usual procedures, with officials thoroughly searching through her personal belongings instead of taking her directly to her vehicle for inspection.

Minaj implied that these delays and heightened security measures were intentional, suggesting that authorities wanted to sabotage or cancel her show. Despite these challenges, she credited divine intervention for ensuring the performance went ahead as planned.

Kenneth Petty’s travel as part of Minaj’s tour had been authorized by a judge, allowing him to join her on the European leg. Petty’s status as a registered sex offender stems from a 1995 conviction for attempted rape, for which he served a prison sentence. Following his release, he faced further legal issues for failing to register as a sex offender in California.

Minaj’s claims shed light on the obstacles she faced during her tour, linking them to her husband’s criminal past and suggesting a deliberate effort to impede her performance in Montreal.
