According to reports, Nicki Minaj‘s assault charges towards her ex-tour manager have been dismissed, but that’s only temporary as the investigation is still ongoing and has yet to reach a final verdict.

On Monday, January 6, Detroit authorities were rejected in their request for a warrant due to “insufficient evidence.” Despite this development, the prosecutor’s office has urged law enforcement to pursue a more thorough investigation, with the possibility of revisiting the case if stronger evidence is uncovered. Nonetheless, Brandon Garrett recently filed a lawsuit, accusing Minaj of assaulting him in her dressing room following a Pink Friday 2 Tour show in Detroit this past April. He asserts that Minaj assaulted him after discovering he had tasked someone else to retrieve her prescriptions.

According to his account, Nicki slapped his wrist, causing a stack of documents to fall to the ground.

The lawsuit alleges that the strike to Garrett’s face led to his head being swung “backwards as his hat flew off his head,” while his wrist remained “throbbing.” Garret also claimed that Minaj verbally attacked him, stating, “Are you fucking crazy having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your fucking mind and if my husband were here he would knock out your fucking teeth.” “You’re a dead man walking. You just fucked up your whole life and you will never be anyone, I’ll make sure of it.”

Furthermore, Garrett asserts that the event left him feeling unsafe, prompting him to take refuge in a bathroom for hours. He was eventually left stranded in Detroit, isolated and vulnerable. In the aftermath of the incident, he was told his employment with Minaj would end, and once he left the city, he attempted to file a police report.

Minaj’s attorney responded to the situation, denying all accusations made against her. Judd Burstein stated, “At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty [Minaj’s legal married name], and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations.” “However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”

Garrett is pursuing legal action for assault, battery, and “intentional infliction of emotional distress,” while seeking an undisclosed sum in damages.
