Normani is bringing all the vibes as one of the cover models of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit edition.
In addition to being on the cover, Normani shared that she will be releasing new music.
“New music is in the works, and I am excited about it,” Norman said. “You know, I pay attention to my fans. I might not be the best when it comes to social media. I’ve made that vow to myself that I am going to be better at that. Not only for myself, but also for the people who support me and my fans.
“I pay close attention, and I see their responses,” she continued. And I see what they want and what their desires are for me. I’m taking it back to my roots a little bit as well.”
Normani’s last album, the acclaimed Dopamine, was released in 2024. The album was a shift from the pop sound of Fifth Harmony to contemporary R&B. Dopamine featured Starrah, Gunna, James Blake, and Cardi B, who performed on the artist’s single “Wild Side.”At this point in her career, Noramani said she’s in a great place.
“I feel more creative than ever and feel more motivated and inspired than ever. Since I put out [Dopamine], a lot has changed,” Normani explained. “I’ve been going through so many major life transitions that I’m really, really excited for. And I see so much beauty in [them]. I’m just enjoying the journey and the process in those transitions. And so, for me, the sky really is the limit.”
In March 2025, Normani and NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf announced their engagement. During Metcalf’s introductory press conference for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he asked Normani to “hold that rock up” for the cameras. The couple was introduced by friends Ciara and Russell Wilson. They went public with their relationship in July 2023.
SHE WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH BEYONCE
When it comes to dream collaborations, Nomani would love to work with Beyoncé.
”So there is definitely a list, but maybe to name one, I would definitely have to say Beyoncé,” she shared. “She has been such an influential part of why I ended up falling in love with music. Not just music itself, but also entertainment. Just the grace that she carries and the poise that she carries.
“Her ability to continue to be innovative for decades and decades. That is difficult to do, but she’s mastered it,” Normani continued. “You know, she always, I feel like, competes against herself. She is her standard.”
