Offset is a “miracle walking,” according to his mother, Latabia Woodward. Over the weekend, the rapper took the stage at the University of Arkansas’ Rowfest just days after being shot outside a Florida casino. Woodward recently hopped on her Instagram Story to praise the rapper— real name Kiari Cephus—for his resilience. “I don’t typically address things about my son on social media,” Woodward began. “I learned a long time ago that facts rarely survive the internet, and I refuse to feed that machine.”
“Six days ago, my son was shot. Four days later, he was released from the hospital. Last night, he was on a stage doing what he loves to do,” she continued. “He is a miracle walking. That is God’s grace, that is God’s mercy.” Last week, Offset shared his own statement regarding the situation. “Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love! I’m good… but I’m planning to be better!” the statement read. “I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music…realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses. Life is a gamble, and I’m playing to win.”
Affidavit Confirms Lil Tjay’s Associate Shot Offset
New details have emerged regarding a physical altercation between Lil Tjay and Offset at a Florida casino. According to a probable cause affidavit, Tjay instigated the fight that resulted in one of his associates shooting Offset. Police officials reported that around 7:22 PM Monday (Apr. 6), the Bronx native “directed members of his party to start a fight with another group of males.”
During the melee, one of the rapper’s associates pulled out a gun and fired a shot in Offset’s direction, injuring him. The affidavit also states that the police reviewed security footage of the incident, where Tjay is seen hopping out of a vehicle, pointing toward Offset, and leading his entourage toward the rapper, where a fight breaks out. Tjay also apparently filmed the incident on his phone. The fight continued for quite some time until the police arrived on the scene. Not long after, Offset was rushed to the hospital, where he is now recovering.
