The highly-anticipated season four premiere of Power Book III: Raising Kanan was full of twists and turns that the popular series has been known for.

Unique played by Joey Bada$$ was discovered to be alive after his brother Ronnie (Grantham Coleman) bludgeoned him and left him for dead. But the wildest reveal may have been when Raq played by Patina Miller found out she was pregnant with Unique’s child but had an abortion.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Miller spoke about how she approached the intense storyline.

“We go deep,” Miller said noting that her portrayal of Raq was “very real, raw, vulnerable moment.”

According to the plot, the abortion took place “somewhere in season 3, between episodes 5 and 10,” Miller explained. It gives the fans “a glimpse into something that was happening behind the scenes”

“You really feel for the character more,” Miller continued. “That was a very real, raw, vulnerable moment for Raquel to have, and she had this moment alone like she does a lot of the time. And it’s an incredible moment that, I think, is needed and really says a lot about who she is.”

Miller added that Raq knows the pregnancy is “not the right choice for her and [is not going to let] anyone make her feel bad about” her decision. “Her mind cannot be changed this time,” she said.

One of the bombshells of the plot is that Unique is alive and Raq has no idea.

“It’s like, how does she deal with that? Does she feel remorse for the decision she makes? You get to watch all of that play out this season,” Miller explained

According to Miller, whatever happens, Raq will get blamed, because she always does.

“It’s like, what kind of chaos will he cause now?” she said. “Ronnie’s not here anymore, so somebody has to be to blame [in Unique’s mind]. Who’s always to blame for these things, who’s the easy one to blame for everything?”

Power Book III: Raising Kanan premiers on Starz on March 7.
