Playboi Carti shared a private message from Erykah Badu after a viral video surfaced of Iggy Azalea alleging he’s been absent from their child’s life for six months. Whether the two moments are connected remains unclear. On Wednesday (January 15), the rapper posted the brief note from Badu, which read simply, “Love u. Keep on.”

While joining Amouranth’s Twitch stream this week, Iggy Azalea delivered a sharp response after a fan urged her to push her ex to release his long-anticipated album. The Australian star voiced, “Someone’s saying, ‘Tell Playboi Carti to drop.’” “I don’t speak to him, my love. We haven’t heard from that man in over like, six months. We don’t know where he is. Have no idea, have no association. You would have to tell somebody that speaks to him, wherever he is. We don’t know or care.”
Iggy Azalea Responds to Carti’s Dear O Documentary: A Single Parent’s Reality
The disappointing update doesn’t come as a shock, considering Iggy Azalea shared last summer that she’s raising their son alone.
Onyx, now four, was born in 2020, right around the time the couple parted ways. In a conversation on the Dinner’s On Me podcast, Iggy explained that Carti hasn’t been present since then. She stated, “I’m very much a single mother.” “I’m very much the only parent. No disrespect, but I am not co-parenting right now and that’s just the reality of it. It’s one, it’s 24/7.”
In 2023, Carti and Onyx featured in a brief documentary titled Dear O, showcasing intimate home videos that highlighted the father-son bond. Despite the warmth of the footage, the project didn’t sit well with Iggy. The day after its release, the Australian rapper posted a biting message on X, criticizing Carti’s portrayal as a devoted father, remarking: “Its cool how you can fit damn near every visit into just one video [white heart emoji] Talented!”
