Ray J stirred conversation during his appearance on TMZ Live Wednesday, voicing strong support for Sean “Diddy” Combs despite the music mogul’s federal convictions.

The entertainer downplayed the gravity of the charges, arguing that Diddy’s actions were consensual and shouldn’t lead to prison time. He dismissed the two Mann Act counts as overblown and framed the trial as unjust.

Ray J rejected the prosecution’s portrayal of Diddy as a violent predator. Instead, he predicted Diddy’s quick release and imagined him jetting to Miami to enjoy the Fourth of July. That prediction fell apart when the judge denied bail, ordering Combs to stay behind bars until his October sentencing.

In his exchange with TMZ hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere, Ray J described the case as a warning to public figures, though not one likely to stop similar behavior. He suggested the verdict could spark more claims against powerful people when relationships turn bitter.

His stance mirrored Boosie Badazz’s view that the prosecution targeted Diddy as a wealthy Black man rather than seeking true justice. Ray J claimed the government’s case weakened as its main arguments collapsed during the trial.

Ray J urged Diddy to consider stepping back and letting his sons take the reins as they stood by him throughout the ordeal. He doubted Diddy would rush to party upon release. Instead, Ray J said he focused on supporting his friend’s legacy, keeping Diddy’s music streams active since early morning.

His defense of Diddy underscores the polarizing response to the case. Some see the trial as long-overdue accountability, while others view it as an unfair attack on a cultural icon.

Ray J’s comments add to the debate, highlighting how Diddy’s legal troubles continue to spark controversy both inside and outside the courtroom.
