South Carolina rapper Blacc Zacc, whose legal name is Zachary Chapman, has moved for pretrial release in a RICO case pending in the District of South Carolina. In a 16-page Motion for Bond/Pretrial Release filed May 4, Chapman seeks a detention hearing under the Bail Reform Act, arguing that release should be the starting point unless the government proves otherwise.
Chapman’s filing emphasizes personal history and community ties. Defense counsel cites his lifelong residence in Columbia, South Carolina, along with family support and parental responsibilities. The motion notes his relationship with Renni Rucci, known for Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, stating the couple shares a child and is expecting another.
To address flight risk and public safety concerns, the defense proposes strict release conditions. These include a $250,000 secured bond, home detention with GPS monitoring, third-party supervision, travel restrictions, and prohibitions on contact with alleged co-conspirators or access to weapons.
Rapper Renni Rucci’s Boyfriend Blacc Zacc Filed A Motion For Bond, Hearing Set For May 13 In South Carolina
A hearing on the motion is scheduled for May 13 in Greenville before U.S. District Judge Kevin McDonald. Chapman remains detained following his October 2025 arrest on charges tied to a sweeping federal indictment that includes racketeering conspiracy.
According to prosecutors, Blacc Zacc founded and led Dirty Money Entertainment, described as a multi-state criminal enterprise engaged in drug trafficking and violence. The indictment alleges the group operated from 2020 through 2025, using properties in South Carolina as bases to move narcotics through airports across several states.
The government further alleges Blacc Zacc orchestrated retaliatory acts, including a murder-for-hire scheme that led to the October 2021 killing of a rival identified as “C.W.” Additional counts accuse him of using interstate communications to facilitate the plot and conspiring to commit robbery affecting interstate commerce.
Prosecutors also seek forfeiture of assets tied to the alleged enterprise, including cash proceeds, firearms, and jewelry. Blacc Zacc faces severe penalties if convicted, including the possibility of capital punishment.
The court will determine whether proposed conditions can reasonably assure his appearance and community safety as the case proceeds.
