Rick Ross is leaning into his signature luxury lifestyle on “Loaded,” a new collaboration with Jamaican-American producer Kemar McGregor, even as the Miami rap heavyweight faces domestic violence charges involving his ex-girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick.

The track blends island-inspired rhythms, warm basslines and cinematic production with Ross’ trademark boasts about wealth, status and success. McGregor, known as “The Billboard King” for his reggae hits, brings a breezy Caribbean bounce to the record.

Beneath the lavish imagery, Ross delivers a rags-to-riches narrative, contrasting humble beginnings with his current position as a self-made mogul. The song’s themes of ambition and financial independence echo the larger brand Ross has cultivated throughout his career.

Since breaking through with 2006’s “Hustlin’,” the rapper has expanded his influence through Maybach Music Group, business ventures and a catalog featuring Port of Miami, Teflon Don and Richer Than I Ever Been. His entrepreneurial portfolio includes Wingstop franchises, automotive-care brand Slippery Soap and the annual Rick Ross Car & Bike Show.

However, Ross’ latest release arrives amid a legal controversy that has drawn attention beyond his music.

On Oct. 1, 2026, Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II, surrendered to police in Miami Beach, Florida. He faces felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery charges stemming from allegations made.

According to a police affidavit, Kendrick alleged that an Aug. 28 argument at Ross’ Star Island residence turned physical. She accused the rapper of slapping her, striking her chest and restricting her breathing by twisting her hoodie collar.

Ross denied the accusations after posting $5,000 bond. “I am totally innocent of these fabricated allegations made against me,” he told reporters.

The allegations remain unproven in court. As “Loaded” celebrates Ross’ wealth and success, the legal case places renewed scrutiny on the rapper beyond his music and business ventures.
