Rihanna has always been known for her fearless fashion, but since becoming a mother of two, she admits that getting dressed isn’t as exciting as it once was. In a new interview for Harper’s Bazaar’s March cover story, published on February 22nd, the 37-year-old singer opened up about how motherhood has changed her approach to style.
“I feel like getting dressed is a fight on its own [now],” she shared. “Everything is so … logical. What makes sense? What’s easy? What’s fast?” The Grammy winner admitted that sometimes the struggle of putting together an outfit makes her want to skip going out altogether. “You go through a fog. And fashion is so much fun, and I miss the fun,” she said.
Rihanna and her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, welcomed their sons, RZA in 2022 and Riot in 2023. Since then, it’s not just her wardrobe that’s changed—her hair has too. In a past interview with Refinery29, Rihanna revealed that postpartum hair loss hit her in waves, something she hadn’t anticipated.
“I thought it would just happen and grow back,” she said, explaining that at one point, she started losing hair in patches. Rather than stress over it, she decided to get creative with her hairstyles. “At that point, you’re just like, alright, enough is enough,” she said.
Despite these challenges, Rihanna continues to embrace her evolving style while balancing motherhood. Though fashion may feel more practical these days, she still finds ways to make it her own.
