Sara Rivers, a former member of Da Band on Bad Boy Records, has filed a $60 million lawsuit against Diddy for sexual harassment.
Filed on Friday, Feb. 28, Rivers, the 148-page lawsuit is linked to New York City’s Gender Motivated Violence Act, which was close to closing.
According to PEOPLE, Rivers names Universal Music, MTV, Bad Boy employees, Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, and more than two dozen other defendants.
Rivers alleges that Combs sexually harassed her, committed assault and battery, and forced her to work under deplorable conditions where she was criticized about her appearance. She also claims that Combs assaulted her while she was walking down a hallway and “backed her up against the corner.”
The suit claims Diddy was close enough “where he could kiss her and ask her in a low, sensual voice how she is doing, if she’s ok and if she needed anything at all.” Also, the Bad Boys founder allegedly “used his left hand to adjust the collar of her jacket and then ran his left hand across her breasts while repeating the phrase if she needs anything to let him know.”
Rivers also cited in the suit on that the cheesecake episode of “Making the Band” was “uncompensated manual labor” describing herself “the only individual who Defendant Diddy scrutinized in such a sexual and humiliating manner.”
Additionally, she accused Diddy of pressuring her to sign a $25,000 publishing contract and blackballed her in the industry after Da Band broke up in 2004.
Rivers also claims Diddy of “making physical threats to group members,” claiming that he “threatened to eat the face of one person and kill another.”
“Defendant Diddy was oftentimes yelling and ridiculing Plaintiff, especially during times Plaintiff sought him out to redress issues she was facing in the group,” the suit read.
Previously, Rivers made accusations against Diddy during her appearance on The Making of a Bad Boy. In the documentary, she revealed that she and her fellow cast members were subjected to horrible treatment between 2002 and 2004.
“When he got angry with one of my band members, he said, ‘You make me so mad I want to eat your flesh.’” “And then he said to another one of my band members, he said, ‘You’re rolling your eyes, I could go get a crackhead and pay them $20 to smack the sh*t out you.’ Who says that? That’s crazy,” Rivers recalled.
Diddy’s representative said that Rivers’ claims are completely false.
“This is yet another example of false claims being filed against Mr. Combs. No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor,” the statement read.
We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. With the deadline for New York’s Gender-Motivated Violence Act expiring tomorrow, it’s clear that opportunists are rushing to file last-minute, meritless claims,” the statement continued. “Mr. Combs remains confident he will prevail in court.”
