Saweetie’s long-awaited debut album, Pretty B**ch Music, might also be her last—at least for a while. The rapper revealed she’s preparing to shift gears into acting mode after its release.
In an interview with InStyle on Wednesday (Feb. 5), she shared that landing a role in a Netflix project is at the top of her 2025 goals.
“After I drop this album, I can see myself fully committing to acting,” she said. “I sent in my audition tapes before the new year, so I’m excited to hear back.”
While keeping details under wraps, she did reveal one key detail: she’d be playing the lead. The project, described as “semi-music-related,” has been in the works since December 2024.
Saweetie is no stranger to the screen. She’s already appeared in Grown-ish as Indigo, BMF as Keeya, and Bel-Air. She also voiced herself in the animated Scooby-Doo spinoff Velma.
As for her debut album, she describes it as “feel-good” and “global.” Though it’s unclear which tracks made the final cut, she released several singles in 2024, including “Richtivities,” “NANi,” “My Best,” and “Is It the Way,” along with two holiday-themed songs.
The album, years in the making, will offer fans a deeper look at the woman behind the music. “It’ll clear up some misconceptions about me and reflect the magical woman I am today,” she said.
She also emphasized that beneath the confident persona, there’s a real person with real emotions.
“Saweetie’s human. I cry. I break down. I shut down. I go through it. This album is finally my chance to speak my truth. A bad b**ch has feelings too.”
