Saweetie is pushing back hard after a former associate made explosive accusations about her on social media, and the rapper says she’s now involving her legal team.
Earlier this week, a woman identifying herself as Maybach Mayy took to social media, alleging that the “Icy Girl” star owed her money related to past business dealings.
Mayy, who claimed to be Saweetie’s former road manager, accused the rapper of failing to pay her for arranging certain promotional appearances, including one allegedly linked to English football player Jadon Sancho. She also shared purported screenshots of text messages and private conversations as supposed evidence.
The posts quickly went viral, stirring controversy and sparking rumors about Saweetie’s personal life and professional conduct. Among Mayy’s most inflammatory claims were that Saweetie developed a romantic relationship with a client and told him not to pay Mayy, as well as accusations about her lifestyle and spending habits.
Saweetie, however, is calling the allegations completely false. In a statement shared to her Instagram Story, the Grammy-nominated artist denounced the claims as “false, defamatory, and deeply disturbing.” She added that the accusations “misrepresent the facts and are solely aimed at damaging my reputation.”
“The woman making these claims never managed me,” Saweetie wrote. “She was simply introduced to me through family. I’ll let the lawyers take it from here.”
As of now, there’s no public record of a formal lawsuit or legal filing, but Saweetie’s comments suggest her legal team is preparing to take action against the claims.
