Snoop Dogg is enlisting top-tier guests for his album, Missionary in collaboration with Dr. Dre.
During an interview at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference, Snoop updated the crowd about the project.
“This new record is gonna put me in a position to probably have that final big stadium tour ’cause there’s a lot of features on this record and I’m excited about that are big-name artists,” Snoop said.
“I got a feature from Jelly Roll and Sting,” he added.
“I’m so happy that me and Sting got a record that’s so good.”
Snoop went on to describe how it was to connect with the other music stars.
“We hung out and we chilled. It was like a child that’s infatuated with somebody as a singer and you get a chance to meet them and they give you everything that you expected,” Snoop said.
According to Snoop, Dr. Dre is getting the best version of himself.
“It’s a collaboration of two friends who genuinely love each other and we know we’re better together, we can make good music, but when I’m with Dr. Dre, I make great music,” he said.
“In my mind, I made it up that I’m gonna go back to being Snoop Doggy Dogg. I want to be the student, the kid, the passenger,” Snoop said. “I want to humble myself and go in the studio and allow him to tell me what I need to do and produce me.”
With The Chronic and Doggystyle, Snoop and Dre made some of the most acclaimed albums ever.
In September, Snoop announced that a new album was in the works and Dr. Dre is producing the project.
“You’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months,” Snoop said on Stephen A. Smith’s “No Mercy” show. “It’s produced by Dr. Dre, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.“
