Drake found himself at the center of social media ridicule over the weekend after sharing a shirtless selfie that reignited long-standing plastic surgery rumors.
The Toronto superstar posted a series of photos on Instagram, accompanied by a cryptic caption: “I’m wide awake for the nights that separate the type who get to it til they get it right from the type who just …type.”
Rather than receiving admiration, Drake’s post sparked a fresh wave of mockery, with users questioning the authenticity of his sculpted physique. One commenter bluntly wrote, “Boy stop playing! The only place you ran was to the surgeon.”
Another added, “Ordered abs from Temu but forgot the shoulders and tris.”
A third remarked, “No shoulders, no biceps, deflated chest but extremely defined abs lmao.”
The backlash revives accusations that have trailed Drake for years. Allegations of ab etching, a nose job, and even a Brazilian butt lift have often surfaced during his rap feuds.
Kendrick Lamar fueled the chatter on his diss track “Euphoria,” rapping, “Let your core audience stomach that / then tell ’em where you get your abs from.”
Rick Ross added to the mockery on “Champagne Moments,” dubbing him “BBL Drizzy” and suggesting cosmetic enhancements. Pusha T’s 2018 diss “The Story of Adidon” also hinted at insecurities beneath Drake’s polished image.
Drake has consistently denied undergoing cosmetic surgery. In April 2024, he shared a playful text exchange with his mother, joking, “I would have got us a 2 for 1 deal if I went ma,” while pointing fingers at Rick Ross for stoking the gossip.
Despite his denials, speculation has only intensified, especially as his rap rivals use the rumors as ammunition. The term “BBL Drizzy” has become a meme in its own right, spreading across platforms and inspiring parodies. Even producer Metro Boomin capitalized on the joke, launching a “BBLDrizzyBeatGiveaway” to further troll the rapper.
Drake has yet to respond to this latest wave of taunts. If history is any guide, fans can expect him to lean on sarcasm and subtlety rather than direct statements, letting his critics exhaust themselves while he keeps the focus on his music and image.
