Soulja Boy is speaking out after a woman who accused him of sexual assault was awarded $4.25 million in a civil lawsuit last week. During an emotional Instagram Live session, the rapper denied all allegations and lashed out at the woman, questioning her motive and claiming she was trying to scam him.
“Go tell the police to come lock me up b***h, if I touched your a*s b***h,” Soulja said during the broadcast. “Lying-a** b***h. Ain’t nobody touched your funky a**, b***h. Who the f**k want money for being sexually assaulted? Who the f**k want some money for that? B***h go lock the n***a up. That’s how you know this s**t a scam. The system is broken.”
The woman originally filed her lawsuit in 2021 under anonymity. Her claims included sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, and emotional distress. The case concluded last week, with a jury siding in her favor and awarding millions in damages.
In response to Soulja Boy’s comments, her attorney Ronald Zambrano issued a statement to XXL clarifying that a criminal investigation did take place. “[Soulja Boy] unsurprisingly omits there was a criminal investigation connected with the same conduct,” he said. “Our client did want him locked up and gave law enforcement the same evidence back in 2021. But it’s not up to her to force the DA to do their job and actually file criminal charges. The DA made the decision and declined to do so. Unfortunately, this is an example of why some share a view that California is soft on crime.”
This isn’t the first time Soulja Boy has addressed the court’s ruling. After the jury’s decision, he read a statement in court, saying, “Today, I stand before you deeply disappointed in the verdict delivered in my case.”
