ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith is criticizing rapper Megan Thee Stallion for her decision to publicly address cheating allegations following her split from NBA player Klay Thompson.

During a recent broadcast of his “Straight Shooter” show, the sports personality questioned the necessity of the Houston rapper’s transparency regarding the end of the relationship. Smith argued that personal grievances should be handled behind closed doors rather than in the headlines of entertainment and sports media. “I don’t know what happened in their relationship. Don’t wanna know, ain’t none of my damn business and none of y’all’s either,” Smith said. “But Megan Thee Stallion made it so… Why? How come you just couldn’t break up and go on your merry way?”

The controversy follows a public breakup between the “Hiss” rapper and Thompson, the veteran sharpshooter. Megan Thee Stallion previously hinted at infidelity as the cause for the separation.

Stephen question Megan’s motives?

“How come you couldn’t just say, ‘We had our time together, but I’m back being single again’ and leave it at that?” Smith said during the show. “Why we gotta dog the brother out? Is there a wedding that I missed?”

He emphasized that the airing of “dirty laundry” serves as a distraction from their respective professional careers. While Thompson has remained quiet regarding the situation.
