Stephen A. Smith reflects on his public feud with LeBron James.
During a recent interview with Gilbert Arenas’ on his “Gil’s Arena” podcast, Smith delivered a blunt update on his relationship with NBA superstar LeBron James, making it clear: “he doesn’t like me, and I don’t like him.”
Smith says fans don’t truly know what went on behind the scenes. “People don’t know the things that have happened behind the scenes… things that have been engaged in in an effort to hurt me.”
Smith has been vocal about where he stands with James following their feud. As previously reported, the two had a heated exchange while courtside after the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the New York Knicks on March 6th, reportedly in response to Smith’s criticism of Bronny.
While previously addressing the exchange, Smith makes it clear that he wouldn’t of backed down if James would’ve hit him. “Let me state for the record that while we bring up that, let me assure you it wouldn’t have gone down like that,” Smith said.
“I would have gotten my ass kicked because had that man put his hands on me, I would have immediately swung on him. Immediately. That, I’m not going to tolerate. But I knew he wasn’t going to do something like that.”
