Summer Walker is back on the market and making it clear she’s officially over men. The R&B star confirmed her split from rapper Rico Recklezz, capping off their short-lived romance that first made waves in December. Their relationship, sparked by a bold pursuit from Rico, has now quietly fizzled out, and Summer isn’t holding back about how she feels.
In a recent post alongside Playboi Carti and his girlfriend Giovanna Ramos, Summer casually slipped in the update: she’s single. She followed it up with her own 2023 track “Finding Peace”, a fitting soundtrack to her latest breakup, and reposted a meme that read, “I like being girly and dainty. I don’t like nothing taking me out of that.” She also quoted Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies,” adding, “All the single ladies. All the single ladies.”
As fans flooded DJ Akademiks’ post with reactions, some joking about the short relationship between Walker and Recklezz. Others critiquing her dating history, Summer addressed the speculation head-on. “Yes I’m single but don’t be weird now y’all,” she wrote. “I can’t even think about fu**kin [with] another man. I love Rico, he really is a sweet man when he wants to be… that’s my pumpkin for life, things just don’t align how we wanted cause we from two different worlds. Let’s move on now.”
And in case there was confusion about her time with Playboi Carti, she clarified: “Thank you Carti for pulling up to add a great finishing touch to my album, you were a perfect gentleman & your wife is so sweet n funny.”
