Summer Walker isn’t entertaining anyone’s opinions about her body. After photos from her Breezy Bowl performance in Miami made the rounds online, the singer decided to speak up. On Sunday, August 3rd, she shared a message on her Instagram Story, making it very clear that comments about her appearance, whether praising or criticizing, are not welcome.
In the image that sparked buzz, Summer was captured from behind wearing a silver leotard and matching knee-high boots. The bold outfit highlighted her figure, and it didn’t take long for social media users to start chiming in with their takes. But Summer wasn’t having it.
Instead of staying silent, she addressed the situation with pride and honesty. “I LOVE my body with a fiery, burning passion. Please get over it. I’m not changing or reducing anything,” she wrote. Her message didn’t stop there. Summer questioned why anyone who has no connection to her would feel the need to comment on her body at all. “I don’t know why it would bother you if we’re not intimate and you don’t even know me in real life. But, please block me if it offends you, or keep scrolling.”
She wrapped up her message by calling out the energy people give to things they claim to dislike. “I don’t invest time and energy into people I don’t like, why should you?”
While some may have spent the weekend critiquing her, Summer made one thing known. She’s proud of how she looks, she’s not seeking approval, and she refuses to shrink herself for anyone else’s comfort. Whether her body is natural or surgically enhanced, the singer is standing firm in her choices and focusing on herself—not the noise.
