The city of “Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection”, will once again host one of the best music festivals of the year. LiveNation announced the return of Roots Picnic in 2025.
The two-day Roots Picnic music festival will be held at the historic Mann Center in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park on May 31 and June 1.
Questlove took to Instagram to share the news of the festival’s return to the city of his birth.
“The 2025 Lineup courtesy from the good folks of @rootspicnic in the city of Philadelphia,” his post read.
The star-studded lineup of artists who are slated to hit the stage is D’Angelo with the Roots, Lenny Kravitz, Meek Mill, GloRilla, Miguel, Tems, Latto, Kayranada, Jeezy, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, TrapKaraokee, Crystal Waters, Lay Banks, Laila and Backyard Band featuring Ceelo Green and more!
D’Angelo will be performing for the first time in nine years and is celebrating the 25 anniversary of his classic album Voodoo. Questlove was the co-producer of the project.
More performers will be announced at a later date.
Pre-sale tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, with general tickets going on sale beginning Friday at 10 a.m.
Last year’s event sold out with performances from artists like André 3000, Shaboozey, Gunna, Jill Scott, Babyface, and Sexxy Red.
In addition to Philly, the legendary Roots crew hosted the A Roots Picnic Experience for the last two years. Last year’s theme was “The Class of 95” where some of the classic albums from the year were released including The Root’s major label debut, Do You Want More?!!!??! Lives sets were performed by The Roots featuring Lil’ Kim, Method Man & Redman, DJ Quik, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Also, Goodie Mob, Raekwon, and Havoc of Mobb Deep performed.
