Tina Knowles is mourning the loss of her cherished Malibu bungalow, which was destroyed in the devastating Palisades fire. The blaze, one of several currently ravaging Los Angeles, claimed her oceanfront sanctuary earlier this week.
Taking to Instagram, Knowles shared her heartbreak alongside a serene video captured just days before the fire. The clip, posted on January 4th, her 71st birthday, showed dolphins gliding through the clear waters in front of her home. “This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!” she wrote.
Despite her personal loss, Knowles expressed gratitude to the firefighters battling the flames. She thanked them for their courage and dedication, writing, “We Thankyou for your dedication and bravery and for saving so many lives.”
Her post also extended empathy to others affected by the fires, which include the Eaton, Palisades, and Hurst fires. “To the people who lost their homes and belongings, I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you own! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you ❤️,” she said.
She concluded her message with hope for recovery and resilience, adding, “I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles!! We are resilient though and we will recover! ‘This too shall pass’ ❤️.”
As of January 9, the Palisades fire has burned over 17,000 acres with 0% containment. The full extent of the damage and the death toll remains unknown, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna.
