Travis Scott is adding a college marching band to his highly anticipated Coachella set.

On Wednesday (Feb. 5), he announced a competition for the best horn arrangement of “4X4,” with the winning band earning a spot on stage with him in April. He also hinted at covering a semester of tuition for the winners.

“Any HBCU or any college with a band—big or small—that takes on the 4X4 horn arrangement, I’m bringing you with me to Coachella,” Scott posted on X. The Astroworld rapper also acknowledged the financial strain of higher education, adding that he’s “possibly figuring out a way to cover a semester ‘cause college is hard.”

Scott’s 4X4 kicked off a new chapter in his career, debuting live during the College Football Playoff National Championship halftime show in January. Performing from atop Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, he let a full marching band take the lead on the horns. Ahead of the song’s official release, he launched themed merchandise, donating all proceeds to Los Angeles first responders.

When 4X4 dropped, it shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, racking up 16.2 million streams and selling 167,000 digital and physical copies. This marked Scott’s fifth chart-topping single, following “Franchise with Young Thug and M.I.A., The Scotts with Kid Cudi, “Highest in the Room,” and Sicko Mode.”

Beyond his viral success, Travis Scott is gearing up for back-to-back headlining sets at Coachella in April. It will be his first time performing at the festival since 2017. “New performance, new Coachella by La Flame and Cactus Jack,” he teased on Instagram. “First of its kind.”
