Waka Flocka is responding to fan speculation that he dissed Gucci Mane during a recent show. In a brief Instagram Story post on Thursday (Apr.9), the rapper made it clear he has no issues with the “Lemonade” rapper. “Y’all reaching with the gucci sh*t be bool and stop putting me and hate in the same sentence,” he wrote. Prior to his response, a video circulated online of the rapper performing “Hard in da Paint,” and when he approached the line “See Gucci, that’s my muthf*cking n*gga,” he seemingly brushed over it, which some fans took as a shot toward Gucci Mane.
Back in the early 2010s, the pair shared a close mentor-mentee relationship; however, things quickly deteriorated over issues involving management and business disputes. That said, despite what fans may theorize, Waka and Gucci appear to have moved past their past grievances. In a 2018 interview, Gucci stated that the pair were “cool” and had no issues with each other. “Everything’s in the past now,” he said.
Waka Flocka Reacts To Gucci Mane/Pooh Shiesty Kidnapping Case
Waka also recently shared his thoughts on Pooh Shiesty’s recent arrest in connection with the robbery and kidnapping of Gucci Mane. Fans assumed that because of their past beef, the rapper would revel in the news; however, that was not the case. “Man, y’all out yo f*cking mind if you think I’m a celebrate wop situation if tho we ain’t on one accord…none of my business carrying 🅱️💲〽️,” he wrote in X post on April 2.
Last Thursday (Apr. 2), Pooh Shiesty and his father were placed in federal custody. That same day, just hours earlier, FBI officials had conducted a raid on his Memphis home. It’s only been a few months since the rapper was released from federal prison after serving over five years in connection with a 2020 Florida shooting. The rapper received an early release back in October 2025 after a combination of time served and good behavior.
