Wallo Shares Why He Asked Lil Durk Not To Seek Revenge For King Von’s Death

Wallo recently shared why he attempted to persuade Lil Durk to move in another direction.

During an appearance on Club Shay Shay, Wallo explained why went to Durk to plead with him not to avenge the murder of King Von’s 2020 murder. After Von’s death, Durk invited him to Chicago to speak with members of his crew.

“It was so emotional because Durk said, ‘I need you to come here… I need you to talk to [them],’” Wallo told Shannon Sharpe. “That’s what he told me. He said, ‘I need you to talk to them, Wallo.’ I said, ‘All right, I’ll talk to them.”

During the viral encounter, Wallo was overcome with tears when he spoke about his brother’s murder and his decision to forgive the killer.

“When I’m talking to them … I understand that nothing is more important in the ghetto than revenge,” Wallo explained. “Revenge is king, the closest thing to God. Because the Black man is willing to die about his ego. The ego killed more Black men than any other disease. Nothing killed Black men more than the ego.”

“It was emotional for me because I’m letting them know [that] the man that killed my brother, I forgave him. Am I a coward? Am I a punk? I don’t know what that sh*t means,” he continued.  “But I knew that forgiving him meant that I was willing to live for my brother in an environment where we celebrate dying for somebody.”

“I said, ‘No. I’m going to live for my brother, my grandma, my brother’s kids, my mama,’” he said. “I’m going just tell you something, Shannon. I’m not built like that—to go kill no Black man. I’m not built like that. I’m not designed like that. I’m not tough like that. I’m not ruthless like that. I’m not heartless like that. That’s just not me … I don’t give a fuck how I die, I don’t care what happen, but if a Black man kill me, you’re going to hear my scream until life end … You’re going to hear my pain. My tears is going to flood the ghettos of America.”

Sadly, Durk did not heed Wallo’s advice. In November, Durk was arrested for his alleged role in a murder-for-hire scheme. It was alleged he tried to a plot to kill rival rapper Quando Rondo who was accused of the 2020 murder of Durk’s friend, King Von.

According to court documents, Durk reportedly attempted to flee the U.S. and booked several international flights shortly after five associates connected to his Only the Family (OTF) label were taken into custody.

Currently, he is incarcerated in Los Angeles.

If convicted, Durk could spend the rest of his life in prison.
