The lawsuit seeking to block the release of the documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? has been dismissed after Wendy Williams’ court-appointed guardian reached a settlement with A&E Television Networks, ending a closely watched dispute over the former television host’s capacity to consent to filming.
According to court records cited by TMZ, Sabrina Morrissey, the guardian overseeing Williams’ legal and financial affairs, resolved the litigation with A&E. The parties did not disclose the settlement’s terms, and the case has been dismissed.
The lawsuit challenged the release of Lifetime’s documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams?, which chronicled the celebrity television host’s life as she navigated serious health issues and a court-ordered guardianship.
Morrissey alleged that Williams lacked the mental capacity to provide informed consent for the production because of significant medical and cognitive conditions. The complaint sought injunctive relief to prevent the documentary’s release and requested damages.
According to the lawsuit, Williams was “incapacitated and incapable of consenting” to being filmed during the production process.
