Will Smith recently recounted his uncanny encounters with both Biggie Smalls and Prince shortly before their untimely deaths.

On the Broken Records Podcast, released Tuesday, Feb. 18, the Philadelphia native described these experiences as a “terrible jinx.” He recalled meeting Biggie just four hours before the rapper’s fatal shooting, adding that he spoke with Prince eight hours before the singer passed away.

Smith explained that during his conversation with Prince, the music legend pitched a bold business venture involving himself, Jay-Z, and Smith. “We discussed starting an entertainment company that very night, and by morning, he was gone,” Smith said.

He expressed both astonishment and reluctant humor about the coincidences, jokingly warning others, “Don’t call me.”

Smith’s account is not new; he had previously alluded to a similar experience on the day Prince’s death was announced in 2016. Back then, he posted a photo of Prince on Facebook, declaring, “I am stunned and heartbroken. I just spoke with him last night.”

These recollections underscore the profound and eerie moments that have unexpectedly intersected with the lives of cultural icons. Smith’s narrative invites listeners to reflect on the fragile nature of life and the mysterious connections that sometimes defy explanation, leaving an indelible mark on those who experience them.
