MIAMI, FL – DECEMBER 15: (EDITOR’S NOTE: Best quality available) In this handout provided by the Miami Dade County Corrections, Rapper XXXTentacion, also known as Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy poses for his mugshot after being charged with seven new felonies stemming from a 2016 domestic violence case on December 15, 2017 in Miami, Florida. The new charges are for witness tampering and harassment.

A personal notebook belonging to the late rapper XXXTentacion has resurfaced online, sparking renewed interest—and mixed emotions—among fans. The notebook, dated 2015, was acquired by a supporter with help from the artist’s former manager and has since been verified as authentic by members of his official team. It offers a rare, intimate window into the mind of the young artist, whose career was tragically cut short over seven years ago.

Originally shared by Rap on Instagram, the notebook contains sketches and handwritten reflections from a teenage XXXTentacion. His team confirmed its legitimacy in a comment under the post, writing, “He wrote all that as a teen, by the way.” The response online has been divided: some fans see it as a valuable look into his creative process, while others question whether it’s time to let his memory rest.

XXXTentacion’s legacy echoes through tribute and record-breaking streams

The renewed attention comes shortly after a memorial organized by his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, marking the seventh anniversary of his death. Family and close friends, including longtime collaborator Ski Mask the Slump God, gathered to celebrate his life and contributions to music. The timing has only deepened the conversation around his lasting imprint on culture.

Though gone, XXXTentacion’s influence remains potent. His 2018 album, ?, crossed a historic milestone in May, becoming the first rap album on Spotify to surpass 12 billion streams. Released just months before his death, the project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with over 131,000 album-equivalent units and has since been certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA. With features from PnB Rock, Travis Barker, Joey Bada$$, and Matt Ox, the album solidified his place among rap’s most impactful voices of the 2010s.

In a heartfelt interview with YouTuber Brandon Sloane, XXXTentacion’s six-year-old son, Gekyume, was asked what message he would share with his father. His quiet response—“That I love him”—served as a moving reminder of the artist’s legacy beyond music.
