Rapper YFN Lucci has been released after spending nearly fours years in custody.
As reported earlier, Lucci was arrested in May 2021 on a RICO indictment. Last year, he pled guilty to a gang-related charge and was sentenced to 10 years, with time served. He has now been freed.
Lucci was also arrested in connection with the January 2021 murder of his friend, James Adams who was shot and killed in his car. The murder charge was dropped.
The Atlanta rapper issued an apology to Adams’ family during a hearing. “First off, I wanna say my heart goes out to my friend, James Adams, and his family. Also, I wanna apologize to my family and my friends for putting them through this stressful process,” he said. “I would also like to apologize to the court. That’s it.”
Lucci has not yet commented on his release, but we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
