Back in November 2016, Dave Chappelle had the entire nation watching as he returned to Saturday Night Live to host what has become a modern day classic episode.
During his opening monologue, he gave an opening to give the then President-elect a chance as he tries to lead the nation.
“So, in that spirit, I’m wishing Donald Trump luck, and I’m gonna give him a chance,” Chappelle said. “And we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one, too.”
It’s May, and it is safe to say Chappelle is looking back at those comments with a hint of regret. During a benefit dinner in New York City he said, “I was the first guy on TV to say, ‘Give Trump a chance.”I f***ed up. Sorry.”
