It looks like Conor McGregor might get a bit of an advantage in the upcoming fight against Floyd Mayweather. One that could change the fight around a slight bit.

Both Mayweather and UFC champion McGregor agreed to use 10 oz. gloves for their highly publicized fight. Seems like the undefeated fighter is feeling a bit confident and challenged McGregor to fight with 8 oz gloves. In UFC the Irish MMA star usually wears 4 oz. gloves.

The two will be facing off August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas where Mayweather is looking at going a record 50-0 and can be seen on Showtime Pay-Per-View.

Don’t believe what you hear in the media. Don’t believe what you hear on blog sites. If it’s not coming directly from me, then it’s not true. I’m telling McGregor, “Let’s fight in 8 oz gloves”. McGregor can fight in any brand he prefers or chooses. I’ll be wearing 8 oz Grant gloves. Whatever advantage McGregor needs to feel more comfortable in the ring, I’m willing to accommodate.
