It’s Over? One Half Of The Neptunes Announces His Retirement? [PHOTO]

Is one half of The Neptunes ready to call it quits?

Chad Hugo sent a tweet out to the Twitterverse last night (May 21), which shocked the music business. He left a tweet that gave the following message, “I resign from the music business. Thanks again, people, for your support throughout all these years. Good luck/God bless!”

According to Pitchfork:

 A rep for Chad Hugo has clarified the producer’s tweet, saying it was a “bad joke.” While N.E.R.D. have not released an album since 2010’s Nothing, Pharrell hinted at a new full-length from them back in November at ComplexCon, saying it would come “when it’s time.” The status of that album is unknown.

I think it’s about time for a brand new Neptunes album!
