Last week, Kim Kardashian had quite a bad time on social media after she took a photo that became controversial as a campaign for cosmetics line KKW Beauty.

Many accused her of using black face where the photo showed a much darker skin tone than we are usually accustomed to.

While receiving backlash on twitter she decided to take the controversy head on in an interview with New York Times. “I would obviously never want to offend anyone. I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off,” she said. “But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.”
