Slowly but surely, Jay Z seems to be bringing back members from the historic Roc-A-Fella era. Not long after signing longtime foe Jim Jones, it is announced that Freeway is the latest member to join the Roc Nation team.

After posting some photos with little context to it, he spoke to Billboard about the brand new opportunity and working with Jay Z once again.

“I mean, of course it’s something that I always wanted to do,” he said. “I just was doing my own thing and trying to work as hard as I can on my own. If the opportunity presented itself for me to make it happen, I always knew that I would try.”

So what made the deal happen?

“We’ve always maintained a good relationship with Jay and everybody over there. We did the B-Sides concert with him — I think that was probably like two years ago. When I was there with him, I gave him some music, just continuing the grind and everything. He was f***ing with the music, and everything was all good. So then when I saw him again backstage at the Beyonce concert in Philly, I was like, “Man listen, Jay. I need this. I’m ready! I need this.” He was like, “It’s nothing. Let’s get it done!” And that’s it!”

Get ready as a Freeway album is on the way!

“Yeah, I’m working on finishing the album now. I’ve got so much music because I’ve been recording, and we’ve been in talks of having the situation done. So I’ve been getting the music ready. I’ve got a bunch of incredible music. I’m looking forward to dropping this first project.”

Maybe we can get a track with Jay, Beans, Freeway etc. one more time for nostalgia sake.
